Interact-TV and Slim Devices Announce Squeezebox Integration with Telly Home Entertainment Server
-- Owners Can Access & Enjoy Entire Music Collection Throughout the Home --
Imagine waking with mellow acoustic jams, working out to a set of pumping tunes and enjoying a relaxing dinner accompanied by some down-tempo tracks. Your day could be scored to music as if it were a movie. With Interact-TV and Slim Devices, you can choreograph your life – and you might even give yourself an Oscar for the effort.
Westminster, Colorado - September 13, 2004 - Interact-TV™ (OTC:ITVI), a leading developer of home entertainment servers, now supports Squeezebox™, the award-winning networked music player from Slim Devices, Inc., that lets owners play digital music on any speaker device, from home theaters to headphones to stereo systems, and access streaming music via the Internet.
Telly, the first home entertainment server built for the living room, makes it easy to store, manage, access and enjoy digital entertainment from a single compact unit. At the click of a button, Telly users can access advanced music and digital photo libraries, including CD playback, ripping and burning, right from the sofa. With the addition of Squeezebox, Telly owners are liberated to play their music on any sound system around the home, either wirelessly or using Ethernet cabling.
“Squeezebox shares some fantastic capabilities with the Telly. Both are easy-to-operate, intuitive devices at a great price point,” said Ken Fuhrman, CEO of Interact-TV. “Now, the integrated SlimServer software allows Telly owners to access their music wherever they are, from the bedroom, to the dining room, to the patio. The Squeezebox and Telly combination is truly opening up and advancing digital music as it has never been before.”
Squeezebox comes with a high-visibility display and simple remote control, and is available in wired or wireless formats. Squeezebox supports digital audio in a wide variety of formats. Multiple Squeezebox devices may be synchronized throughout the home for whole-house audio.
“Digital music technology is expanding before our eyes, and the Squeezebox and Telly are prime examples of how innovation makes life more enjoyable for all of us,” said Patrick Cosson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Slim Devices.
Telly also offers easy digital video recording with a subscription-free, multi-user electronic program guide, delivered via a broadband connection, with built-in search capabilities to find specific programming. Telly’s recording choices include pause live TV, manual record and scheduled recording with various repeat options. All of Telly’s capabilities can be easily managed using the included trackball remote or optional wireless keyboard, or from any wired or wireless networked PC.
Both Telly 3.0, based on Linux, and Slim Devices’ SlimServer leverage open-source software, allowing for flexible innovation. Slim Devices products are available from links on either Interact-TV (www.buyatelly.com) or Slim Devices (https://secure.slimdevices.com/order/) Web stores.
